Terms of Use
Last updated: August 13, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to the OverlayMotion website, previews, documentation, downloads, and purchase flows (the Service). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What OverlayMotion provides
OverlayMotion provides source-code tools, documentation, examples, and motion templates for creating video and image outputs. Features, prices, and included materials may change before purchase. The checkout page describes what is included in a specific purchase.
2. Software and template licenses
These Terms do not grant a software license by themselves.
- OverlayMotion Core and files in the official open-source distribution are licensed under the MIT License.
- Premium templates and paid source materials are licensed under the OverlayMotion Premium Template Commercial License.
- Remotion and other third-party software remain subject to their own licenses.
If these Terms conflict with a license that specifically covers downloaded software or templates, that specific license controls for those materials.
3. Purchases
Prices, taxes, included updates, and any refund terms are shown during checkout. Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. You must provide accurate billing and delivery information and may not share private download links, accounts, or license keys outside the scope allowed by your license.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
4. Acceptable use
You may browse the site, test public previews, read documentation, and use materials according to their applicable licenses. You may not:
- interfere with the Service or attempt unauthorized access;
- bypass payment, licensing, or access controls;
- use the Service to distribute malware or violate another person's rights;
- falsely claim that OverlayMotion or Remotion endorses you; or
- copy or redistribute premium source code except as its license permits.
We may suspend access to paid materials when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security problems, chargebacks, or a material license violation.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of footage, text, audio, images, data, and other material you provide. If you send material to OverlayMotion for support, you permit us to use it only as needed to provide that support. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use your content.
6. Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with Remotion, GitHub, Stripe, hosting providers, and other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. OverlayMotion does not control those services.
OverlayMotion is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Remotion.
7. Availability and warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every example will fit every project. Preview content and documentation may contain errors and may be updated.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OverlayMotion disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunities. Any liability relating to a paid item is limited to the amount paid for that item.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms when the Service changes. The date above identifies the current version. Changes apply prospectively after publication; a purchase already made remains governed by the license and purchase terms accepted at that time.
9. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to [email protected].
